Hi everyone,
Firstly, the KS1 team hope that you have all had a much deserved Christmas break! Due to government guidance, we have sadly needed to close our doors again to all children apart from those that qualify for a key worker place. However, staff are working relentlessly to get our remote learning policy in force and we hope that those accessing materials from home are doing so without too many problems. Should you experience any such problems, just let your class teacher know.
Our main platform for communication with parents continues to be Class Dojo so do use this to post messages to your child's teacher. You can also continue to upload photos of your child's work through their Dojo portfolio or via Google Classroom when submitting work.
All learning will be accessed by children through Google Classroom where you will find your class page and assigned work along with pre- recorded/live contact from class teachers. This is a great way of children not only staying up to date with their learning but also an opportunity to keep communication going with their peers and teachers.
Any issues connecting or accessing these platforms, do let your child's teacher know. We also welcome any feedback as we look to improve our systems so please do get in touch. A copy of our Remote Learning Policy can be found on our website page.
Key Worker information:
If your child is attending school currently as a keyworker please note that our school day runs 9am - 3pm. Children should enter and leave through the KS1 gate beside the BACHS centre. Parents may come onto the school playground but we ask that face masks are worn at all times an you respect social distancing.
School equipment needed from home:
Children may continue to bring a WM bookbag to school. Please remember, children should not be bringing pencil cases, toys, cards etc to school. Please ensure children have an outdoor coat, wellies and PE kit in school at all times. As we need to keep rooms well ventilated through the Winter period, we have also asked for children to wear extra layers. School uniform is still expected but rules are a little relaxed in order to keep children warm. Bobble hats may also be worn.
Best wishes, stay safe
Miss Curson & Miss Floris
