Year 6 - Kestrel and Eagle

Clayton-le-Woods - Year 6
Welcome to our year 6 class page. As you know,  due to government guidance, we have sadly needed to close our doors again to all children apart from those that qualify for a key worker place.  However, staff are working relentlessly to get our remote learning policy in force and we hope that those accessing materials from home are doing so without too many problems.  Should you experience any such problems, just let your class teacher know.

Our main platform for communication with parents continues to be Class Dojo so do use this to post messages to your child's teacher.  You can also upload photos of your child's learning through Dojo, however Google Classrooms is preferred.

All learning will be accessed by children through Google Classroom where you will find your class page and assigned work along with pre- recorded/live contact from class teachers.  This is a great way of children not only staying up to date with their learning but also an opportunity to keep communication going with their peers and teachers.

Any issues connecting or accessing these platforms, do let your child's teacher know.  We also welcome any feedback as we look to improve our systems so please do get in touch.  A copy of our Remote Learning Policy can be found on this website site.

Please see below for some key information:
Morning/afternoon drops offs and pick ups

At the moment, only children who are considered vulnerable or are children of key workers may attend from 8:45 - 3:00.  Children should enter and leave through the KS2 gate beside nursery.  We ask that everyone please respect these times and systems as to support the reduce of traffic.  Parents may come onto the school playground but we ask that face masks are worn at all times.

School equipment needed from home:

Please ensure children have an outdoor coat, wellies and PE kit in school at all times. In addition, at some point this term Year 6 will be having Forest School, you will be notified in advance so children can come in prepared. Other items to bring in are:

Home School Learning Journal

School Reading Scheme Book

Pack lunch if not hot dinners and any medical items

Spring Term Class Reads
