EYFS - Tawny and Snowy Owls

EYFS Service of Welcome | Corpus Christi Catholic School

Welcome to Snowy and Tawny Owls,

 Summer 1!

Welcome to Summer 1!  .

This term our topic is 'Land Ahoy!'. We will be starting with a pirate theme, and engaging the children with the making of treasure maps and writing messages in a bottle. During the second half of this half-term we will be looking more at the seaside and our oceans.

In our Jigsaw PSHE sessions this half-term, we will be looking at 'Relationships'. We will be encouraging the children to think about who they live with and who their friends are, as well as why certain people are special to them. Another aspect we will be focusing on is understanding how to be a good friend, and how we can solve conflicts should they arise.

Below, please find some key information for this half term:

Morning/afternoon drops offs and pick ups:

At the moment our school day will now run from 9:00 - 3:00.  Children should enter and leave through our EYFS gate. We ask that parents stay outside of the gate due to limited space in the outdoor area.  At the end of the day we will bring the children out to you as we dismiss. If you need to speak to us then we will still be available to talk to whilst stood on the gate.

School equipment needed from home:

Children may continue to bring a WM bookbag to school (not rucksacks).  Please remember, children should not be bringing toys, cards etc to school.  Please ensure children have an outdoor coat, wellies and PE kit in school at all times.

As the weather becomes warmer, please ensure children come to school with a sun hat, and that sun cream is applied before the children come to school on days where this is necessary. They can bring a named bottle of sun cream in their bookbag, which can be used as a top up during the day. Please note - we cannot apply the sun cream directly on the children, but we can support them with how much they will need and where to put it.

Class Dojo:

Class dojo remains an integral tool as a day to day communication line for staff and pupils with parents.  We will always aim to respond as soon as possible; with full time teaching commitments, we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Tapestry will continue to be used by EYFS staff in order to record learning against the EYFS curriculum. Please feel free to add any of your observations from what the children are doing at home. We really enjoyed seeing this during our period of home learning, so it would be great if this could continue!
