Welcome to our Year 6 class page and to the start of the summer term! This term, we be exploring Saxon Briton through the eyes of Alfred The Great.  We will investigate what life was like as a Saxon through the fictional book 'What they don't tell you about the Anglo-Saxons'.  

Personal, Social, Health Education, centres around Relationships. We will look into building friendships, solving friendship problems, helping others feeling part of a group, showing respect to others and to know how to help themselves if they feel hurt or upset. 

Home learning tasks are a vital way of children demonstrating their understanding of learning in the classroom, while at home. Please can all parents encourage their child to complete all weekly task on time, whether this is through Google Classrooms or handing-in a hard copy to the appropriate place in the classroom. Learning task issued on a Friday will need to be turned-in/handed-in by the following Thursday. TTRS and Reading tasks with Oxford Owl, through the relevant websites continues and details are found in your child's Learning Journal.

Morning/afternoon drops offs and pick ups

At the moment, only children who are considered vulnerable or are children of key workers may attend from 8:45 - 3:00.  Children should enter and leave through the KS2 gate beside nursery.  We ask that everyone please respect these times and systems as to support the reduce of traffic.  Parents may come onto the school playground but we ask that face masks are worn at all times.

School equipment needed from home:

Please ensure children have an outdoor coat, wellies and PE kit in school at all times. In addition, at some point this term Year 6 will be having Forest School, you will be notified in advance so children can come in prepared. Other items to bring in are:

Pack lunch if not hot dinners and any medical items

Spring Term Class Reads
